Cryo-condensation is often used to separate alcohols, alkane, chlorinated hydrocarbons or aromatic compounds and can even deal with fluctuations. A special application for cryo condensation is the recycling of old refrigerators: the ozone-damaging chlorofluorocarbons are removed from the process with the help of liquid nitrogen. These plants are built in cooperation with Messer Group.
DUOCONDEX-PLANTS: AIR PURIFICATION WITH CRYOCONDENSATION.
Small, highly loaded process exhaust air volumes can be cleaned very effectively with our DUOCONDEX plants. With the help of liquid nitrogen, the hydrocarbons (VOC) are condensed out or frozen out and thus recovered. Condensed solvents leave the condenser with a high quality because there is no dilution or contamination during the process. Substances can be reused in the production process. Cooling with liquid nitrogen (boiling point -196 °C) lowers the clean gas temperature to such an extent that the exhaust gas concentration can be reduced to the mg/m³ range. The cryo-condensers required for this must be designed in such a way that formation of ice and fog does not impair the desired cleaning effect. Multiple use of the supplied nitrogen is possible.
